Suggestions for tours around the motorcycle hotel Sonnleit'n

Arlberg- and Flexenpass, Hahntennjoch

Arlberg- and Flexenpass, Hahntennjoch

From Ladis follow direction Landeck to St.Anton over the Arlbergpass and the Flexenpass, follow direction Zürs - Lech - Warth. At Warth turn right, take the B198 direction Steeg.

Between Häselgehr and Elmen take the road on the right side that leads right up to the Hahntennjoch. On the road, simply follow the road signs until you come to the small city of Imst. From Imst via Landeck back to Hotel Sonnleit'n.

Tour distance: approx. 190 km

‚Smuggler’s street‘ to Samnaun

‚Smuggler’s street‘ to Samnaun

On this half-day-trip you can visit the dutyfree shopping area of Samnaun (Switzerland).

Starting at Ladis you follow direction Prutz (farther on you could visit St. Moritz, Switzerland – or the Reschenpass, Italy). After passing Pfunds, the road turns right direction Samnaun (duty free zone).

Samnaun is the only duty free area of Switzerland and maybe its bestknown, too. Exclusive brand name perfumes, first class spirituous beverages, luxury watches, noble jewellery, tobacco products and much more can be found at a sensational price. After some shopping-time take the same route back to Hotel Sonnleit’n.

Tour distance: approx. 110 km

Silvretta Hochalpenstraße

Silvretta Hochalpenstraße

Starting at Ladis follow direction Landeck to Pians (please take notice of the road signs – there might be some construction sites) right before the petrol station JET turn right direction Paznauntal.

Then via See, Kappl, Ischgl and Galtür until the toll station of Silvretta Hochalpenstraße/high alpine street. Following this road you will arrive in the valley of Montafon and can go farther on to Bludenz. At Bludenz you just take the old main road direction Arlbergpass, back to Landeck and then to Ladis. There you are - in Hotel Sonnleit’n again!

Tour distance: ca. 210km

Three–countries-tour

Three–countries-tour

This tour is especially charming because along the way there are many sights, so leaving the originally planned road will turn out to be another surprise. Starting at Ladis, follow direction Ried (farther on you could visit St. Moritz CH or the Reschenpass Italy). At Ried you will find the first possibility to take another route: Take the road leading left and via Prutz you can discover the Kaunertaler Gletscherstraße (a toll fee is required). If you stay on the main road at Ried (Reschenstraße), immediately after the village of Pfunds you can follow the route to Samnaun (duty free zone). If you prefer staying on the B315, you will pass Nauders and go straight ahead over the Reschenpass to South Tyrol, which in former times was a part of Tyrol but nowadays belongs to Italy. Taking the S40 and S38 direction Meran is the shortest way to the next destination. At Compaccio take the road left that leads into the Schnals Valley (Schnalstal) – as a passionate motorcyclist you shouldn’t miss these curves!

Back from the Schnalstal on the B 38 you should carefully check the time and your physical condition. If you have, so far, resisted the temptation to leave the originally planned route, now via Meran you might want to discover the winding mountain route up to the Timmelsjoch and back to Austria. Otherwise, simply take the same road back to Ladis. At Meran a visit to the lakeside promenade is highly recommended! Enjoy an Italian gelati among ‚like-minded‘ people or take a short detour to the castle of Thurnstein, it will be worth it! At Meran, take the S44 via Rifiano, Saltusio, San Martino in Passiria, San Leonardo in Passiria, Moso and Belprato to the Timmelsjoch. From there, on the Austrian side of the pass the main road B 186 takes you through and out of the Ötz Valley (Ötztal) passing among other villages Hochgurgl, Obergurgl and Sölden. Then simply take the A12 – Inntal highway or the interstate road via Imst and Landeck to Ladis and return to Hotel Sonnleit’n.

Tour distance without side tour: approx. 360 km

Tour distance including side tour: approx. 450 km
